The pacific coast of Colombia is one of the last remaining lungs of the world. Humpback whales choose its waters to give birth and reproduce every year. 🐋

Ecopazifico started as a permaculture and recycled art program, focusing on Beach clean up activities designen for children and youth of the pacific coast of Colombia .

Coastal communities of Colombia, have little to non of their basic needs covered. Taking care of the environment is many times one of their least of concerns.

The Beach Rangers Program was created in 2020, after the pandemic, in the community of Juanchaco. Ecopazífico got sponsored to hire community members to clean the beach for 3 months.

Always in deep gratitude with the Colombian Navy @armadacolombia for helping us remove over 140,000 kilos of trash from the oceans . Stay tuned so you can also help protect our oceans .

In this episode we visit Juanchaco in the pacific coast of Colombia to learn how ‪@EcoPAZIFICO‬ started a plastic recycling center entirely build with Precious Plastic machines to offer a practical solution to the problem of plastic waste in this forgotten coastal community.

En enero 21 2023, el consejo comunitario de Juanchaco, celebro la inauguración del primer centro de reciclaje de la costa pacifica colombiana, con maquinaria a baja escala, para la transformación de 3 tipos diferentes de plastico rígido.
