]]> Introducing one of the most admirable organizations in Colombia, our friends from the Biodiversity Conservation Colombia Foundation.

This group of divers, lovers of Malpelo sanctuary Rock island, work together with the Colombian navy, National Parks, and the Malpelo Foundation, to protect the fauna of this important ecosystem.
Her foundress is Erika Lopez. She is an activist from the city of Cali, who knows very well, the importance of reminding fishermen who arrive without any invitation THAT MALPELO IS NOT A FISHING AREA.

]]> The Recycling Station #2 of the “Mapare Eco Trail“ is today a Reality. (Mapare = Material to revive, Plastic fragments that just lay on the beach).
The Colombian Shoe and Bag Company OQ Shoes and the actress Claudia Bahamon, got together to create the line OQ By Claudia B, inspired in the pacific nature, to support Ecopazifico’s recycling system.

Juanchaco has now another recycling station where people can deposit Mapare of different Colors in 4 different bins.

Infinite gratitude for joining our efforts and help Ecopazifico clean the beaches of our majestic Pacific coast of Colombia.

]]> Cali is one of the most privileged cities pf Colombia. 7 Rivers flow across the city and one of them is the Cauca River. The Cauca river has been suffering from alot of pollution and invasive homes and neighborhoods in the sorrounding of the river.
This is mayor problem since the possibilities of a catastrophee is high, if the river grows, the dam will colapse bringing down all the houses and flooding the city.

But The the city of Cali has a plan: Re ubicate these families in a nearby safe lands and recover the naturality of the river by making eco trails, bike routes, bird watching,and educational activities.

Ecopazifico got invited with the team of the PLAN JARILLÓN and the Scout group #809 to navigate along the river and have a clear perspective of the opportunities that this plan has to offer the city. The city knows that with groups like the Scouts and volunteers like Ecopazifico, a lot of environmental protection activities can be done.

We are very grateful to have seen the beauty of the river and pray for society to work together for its recovery.

The winner was “Institución educativa LOS ANDES “

The School has a permaculture garden, rain water collection systems, gray water system, recycling, and an impecable environmental education program.

We are very happy and inspired to see that each day more, schools and institutions are taking actions to protect our resources.
